When this movie first came out a lot of people said this movie was going to be based off of Princess Diana. And while the plot is loosely based on that, the movie is a lot different.
The movie starts out with Bo Laramie at his first big movie premier. A lot of paparazzi is at the red carpet getting the shots of him and of course he starts to freak out a bit from all of the flashing lights. A little bit later we have one guy taking pictures of Bo's son at soccer practice and this sets him off. He assaults the paparazzi and is forced to take anger management classes.
We find out that the paparazzi who was assaulted is on of four "old school" guys who believe in hanging out in trees for three days and that there isn't such a thing as invasion of privacy. The four guys set off following Bo a little bit later and cause Bo to get into a car accident which sends his son into a coma and his wife is severely injured.
Now comes the fun part. On one hand Bo cannot do anything as the paparazzi guys all have the same story - they were following Bo, but did not cause the accident. On the other hand they hurt his family and he wants revenge.
He is presented with his first opportunity when he is trying to call his anger management counselor. The irony was not lost on me with this. The rest of the plot is about how he goes about getting his revenge on the paparazzi.
Overall I enjoyed this movie. I thought the idea was great and the way Bo went about seeking revenge was amazing. The movie was a little slow in the beginning, but once it took off, it never stopped until the end. My only other complaint is that the movie was just a mere 85 minutes long. While I can see how a movie like this would be hard to make longer, I wish there was more action between Bo and the paparazzi. Just a little more give and take between the two after Bo sets out to get revenge. |
