 I picked up this movie as it has Christina Ricci in it and she is one of my little crushes. I have yet to see a truly bad movie with her in it as she tends to do the quirkier movies which is something I really like.
The movie focuses on the tenants of this particular motel in LA and how they interact with each other. One part is about the owner and his daughter and her fiancée and the arguments that ensue from that. We have 2 males who have never been with a woman so they hired hookers to spend the night and then they don't pay up. We have a 21 year old female who wakes up with a random guy in her bed not knowing why and how that all unfolds and then we have the violin player and the naturalist.
While there is no said rise and fall of the plot as it all happens in the span of probably 12 hours, the story is enjoyable. Parts of the movie are funny and parts are boring, but over all I enjoyed it.
The one thing that caught me by surprise was that this film was actually made in 1999 and it just recently hit the dvd market. I did not watch any of the extras on the dvd so I cannot comment on those. If you are looking for a movie that is easy to just sit back and watch then this is one for you. |
