 I was given the opportunity to see this movie for free in the theaters, but my wife declined and I didn't get to see it till it came out on DVD. Now I must point something out right away with this movie: The first time you watch it you will be thinking "what the hell?" But the second time you watch it and the third time, you will start to pick up on some extremely funny quotes.
The story is about Napolean Dynamite, his friends, family and his year at school. It starts off with him waiting for the bus and he is holding an action figure. We wait to see what is going to happen and he gets on the bus and sits in the back. A fellow student asks, "What are you going to do Napolean?" to which Napolean replies, "Whatever I want! Duh!" He then proceeds to throw the action figure out the window and we have a shot of it being dragged behind the bus. Remember what I said about the first time you watch it? Exactly.
This movie has no real plot. Sure there is the "vote for Pedro" plot and the little bit of flirting with some of the characters, but there really isn't a plot. The best quote I heard about this movie was that it was this generations Breakfast Club.
The best part of this movie is all of the quotes you will get from it. Suddenly when you are walking down the street and hear someone say they got nun chuck skills and bow hunting skills you will understand. After watching this movie three times I truly understand the genius behind this movie and recommend it to everyone as it will become a cult classic.
